Day 01 : Arrive Chennai
Arrive Chennai Drive to Mahabalipuram 60Km/1& half hrs Mahabalipuram is an ancient historic town and was the major seaport during the Pallava Kingdom. The group of monuments at Mahabalipuram is considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.on arrival proceed for check-in hotel. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel Overnight at the hotel
Day 02 : Mahabalipuram
After breakfast in the hotel explore the Mahabalipuram. Visit Shore temple built in the 8th century during the reign of Pallava dynasty and then we visit Pancha Rathas, which are the temples carved in the shape of Chariots. The best example of monolithic Indian Rock-cut architecture. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel
Day 03 : Mahabalipuram-Pondicherry (100kms2-3hrs)
After buffet breakfast in hotel proceed to Pondicherry on arrival make a visit to The Matrimandir known as “Temple of The Mother” is an edifice of deep Auroville spiritual significance for practitioners of Integral Yoga, located at the heart of Auroville—the experimental township founded under the guidance of The Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Often referred to as “the soul of the city,” the Matrimandir stands in a vast open expanse known as Peace. Importantly, it does not belong to any particular religion or sect, reflecting Auroville’s universal and inclusive spirit. Later visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual ashram in India and attracts many devotees from India as well as from all over the world for spiritual salvation. The ashram was founded in the year 1926 by Sri Aurobindo Ghose, who was an Indian philosopher, yogi and poet. from here you will explore the French quarters on Riksho, a very local experience of this charming city. Day 04 : Pondicherry-Kumbakonam (130kms/3hrs).
After breakfast drive to Kumbakonam. On arrival visit the Airavatheeswarar of Darasumam Temple built by Raja Raja Chola II (Rajendra Chola) is an example of 12th century Chola architecture and is well preserved even to this day. The frontal columns of the temple have unique miniature sculptures. Darasuram is also a silk weaving centre. UNESCO declared this temple as a World Heritage Monument. After checking in your hotel you will have a tranquil walk into the village to see & understand the local life. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel
Day 05 : Kumbakonam -Madurai 220kms/5hrs
After breakfast in the hotel drive to Madurai enroute visit Brihadeeswarar Temple, which is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva and the temple was built in 11th century. The Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as “Great Living Chola Temples” and one of the largest temples in India. Continue to drive towards Madurai. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 : Madurai
Morning visit of Madurai city tour, start with flower market Mattuthavani it is one of the biggest flower markets in southern India. Madurai flower market is popular for Jasmine, rose and other varieties also; especially Jasmine flower is exported to countries like Germany, The United States of America and Italy. Visit Meenakshi Amman Temple Dravidian temple architecture may be seen in its exuberant baroque phase. Its Hall of a Thousand Pillars is fabulous and is filled with worshippers at all hours of the day. Visit the Tirumal Nayak's Palace which is a highly decorative monument. Its enormous roofed arcade supported by 48-foot-high stoned pillars, still stands. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel
Day 07 : Madurai- Thekkady (145kms/4-5hrs)
After breakfast in the hotel drive to Thekkady (Periyar) Morning drive towards Thekkady through the nice scenery of the hills approaching while entering into Thekkady.On arrival Check-Inn Hotel. A guided walk into a spice garden to see & understand various Malabara spices grown in this region. A visit to Periyar National Park by boat Thekkady’s Periyar tiger reserve is home to a wide variety of animals.including elephants,tigers,gaur,samar deer,etc. Dinner & Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08 Thekkady- Alleppey (150kms/4-5hrs)
board the houseboat & experience serenity of Lake Drive to Alleppey, a backwater heaven interlocked with lakes and canals. Check in at the Houseboat & sail through the Vembanad Lake & experience local's life & beauty of the lake while staying overnight on a houseboat. Your cook will prepare dishes on board & include Lunch/Dinner
Day 09 : Alleppey-Cochin (55km 1.30 hrs)
Morning disembark Houseboat, & drive towards Cochin, visit of Fort Kochi area, Sightseeing tour of Fort Cochin,visit Mattancherry palace, a Portuguese palace, popularly known as Dutch palace, visit Jewish Synagogue, visit St. Francis Church, originally built in 1503, this church is the oldest European church in India & Chinese fishing nets, an unusual method of fishing operated from the shores. Day 10 :Cochin-Mararikulam 50 km 1.30 hrs
